The Concrete Shed – Warranty & Returns Policy
At The Concrete Shed, we specialise in custom precast products using high-performance Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). As each item is handcrafted and made to order, we uphold the following terms and conditions regarding warranty, refunds, and returns.
Custom Orders – No Refunds or Returns
All custom-made items are non-refundable and non-returnable. We strongly encourage customers to fully understand our product characteristics and limitations prior to placing an order.
Material Characteristics & Expectations
Our GFRC products are made without aggregate and gain strength through embedded glass fibres. As with all concrete products, natural variation in colour, texture, and surface finish is to be expected. This is a normal characteristic and part of the aesthetic of concrete.
Surface Variation: Slight mottling, colour differences, and textural changes are natural and not considered defects. Above Counter Concrete basins are poured in rubber molds and you may see variations in texture, colour and pin holes that are part of the natural process of concrete and not considered defective.
Undersides: The underside of benchtops and vanities are not finished for visibility or touch and may show raw, functional surfaces.
Air Pockets & Grouting: Small air pockets may appear during casting and are commonly filled with a colour-matched grout. While we aim for a close match, exact colour consistency is not guaranteed.
Ensure that all measurements, colour and design specifications are correct at time of invoicing. No refunds or returns will be given on measurements incorrectly provided to us.
Hairline fractures are not considered a structural issue and can occur during the natural drying process
Wear & Patina
Concrete is a natural material and will develop a patina over time, similar to natural stone. Minor marks, stains, and surface wear are part of the normal process and do not affect the structural integrity of the product.
The Concrete Shed is not responsible for damage to the finished product resulting in edge chipping, surface damage, cracking or discoloration caused by heat, UV exposure, abuse and general wear & tear. The Concrete Shed is not responsible for damage due to improper care, maintenance or structural supports, including cleaning with abrasive substances.
Inspection Upon Installation or Delivery
All products must be inspected by the customer on the day of installation or within 48 hours of delivery. By confirming acceptance at the time of installation or delivery, the customer acknowledges the product has been received in good condition.
Any concerns regarding the product’s condition must be raised immediately on the day of installation or within 48 hours of the product being delivered.
Claims made after this period will not be accepted, except in the case of structural failure as defined below.
Concrete vanities and benchtops are heavy items, and the builder, plumber or owner must take appropriate safety precautions moving it.
When your basin or vanity is being installed, be mindful of over tightening of the waste as this can cause cracking and is not covered by The Concrete Shed
Structural Warranty
We provide a limited warranty only in cases where a product has structural failed due to a defect in our concrete mix or manufacturing process.
This does not cover damage caused by improper installation, uneven joinery or cabinetry, mishandling, hairline cracks or misuse.
Determination of structural defects is at the sole discretion of The Concrete Shed.
