Custom Pool Fencing
Pool fencing in Australia is essential, we researched high and low on how we could choose a pool fence that wouldn’t interrupt the design. After endless Pinterest searching, we had Alex out from Somewhere Landscape Architects. Within 5 minutes she had come up with such a beautiful design that met the brief perfectly.
For our pool area, we wanted something that met safety requirements while still feeling minimal and considered. The vertical steel battens create a subtle rhythm without blocking the view, allowing the landscape to remain the hero. We originally had glass as our pool fence and we found it just didn’t let a breeze in, the birds would constantly fly into it and it was impossible to keep clean.
Paired with a rendered wall, we chose to powder coat the fence in a Corten steel colour to add contrast and depth. Our original idea was to leave it to rust naturally but we were worried this would cause leaching onto the pool tiles and into the pool itself.
Because it’s custom, every detail was thought through, from batten spacing to how the fence meets the rendered wall.
The end result is simple: a pool area that feels open, calm, and connected while still doing exactly what it needs to do.
Check out the drawing for batten spacing, pool fence height is 1200. All we needed to do with these panels was screw the base plate into the concrete!
