Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all products and services supplied by The Concrete Shed.
Quotes & Custom Projects
All quotes issued by The Concrete Shed are valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue. If a quote expires, a revised quote may be provided and pricing may change.
Acceptance of a quote confirms the client’s agreement to The Concrete Shed’s Terms & Conditions, Care & Maintenance information, and Warranty documentation.
Quotes may specify the number of site visits and the amount of time allocated onsite. Should additional site visits or extended time be required beyond what is included, extra charges may apply.
It is the client’s responsibility to disclose all relevant site access details at the time of quoting, including but not limited to stairs, steps, steep driveways, restricted access, or narrow entries. Failure to provide accurate access information may result in additional costs.
Payment Terms
Online Store
Orders placed through our Online Store require payment in full at checkout. After 48 hours from order placement, 30% of the total order value becomes non-refundable.
Custom Projects
For custom work, two invoices will generally be issued:
A 30% non-refundable deposit payable prior to commencement
A 70% balance invoice payable prior to collection, dispatch, delivery, or installation
All projects must be paid in full before leaving our workshop. A project is only confirmed and scheduled once the deposit has been received.
Where alternative payment arrangements have been agreed, a minimum of 30% of the total project value remains non-refundable.
Changes & Modifications
If changes are requested to the design, specifications, or dimensions after manufacturing has commenced, the client will be responsible for all additional material and labour costs required to remake or alter the product.
Project Cancellation
If an online order or custom project is cancelled at any stage after work has commenced, the non-refundable deposit will be retained. The client may also be liable for any additional costs incurred for labour, materials, or production completed up to the cancellation date.
Colour, Finish & Natural Variation
The Concrete Shed specialises in Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). Concrete is a hand-crafted, natural material and inherent variations should be expected. Differences in colour, texture, pin-holing, grout fill, patina, and surface finish are normal characteristics and do not affect structural performance.
Finished products will vary from photographs, display pieces, showroom items, and samples. Colour samples are provided as a guide only and may not exactly represent the final product due to variations in moulds, casting methods, sealing processes, materials, and environmental conditions. No two concrete pieces will be identical.
Appointments & Product Viewing
Clients are strongly encouraged to attend an appointment and view products in person prior to placing an order. It is the client’s responsibility to familiarise themselves with finishes, colours, variations, and overall appearance and to ensure the product meets their expectations.
Photography & Promotion
The Concrete Shed retains the right to photograph completed projects and use these images for marketing, promotional, and social media purposes.
Returns, Exchanges & Warranty Claims
The Concrete Shed does not offer exchanges, replacements, repairs, refunds, or returns for change of mind, incorrect sizing, or personal preference regarding colour, texture, pin-holing, patina, or finish.
Warranty claims relating to defects will be assessed in accordance with The Concrete Shed Design Warranty. We may request photographs or physical return of the product for assessment.
Where a claim is accepted, The Concrete Shed reserves the right to determine whether the appropriate remedy is repair, replacement, exchange, or refund.
Invalid, misleading, or dishonest claims may incur an assessment fee. Products that have been used, installed, or altered will not be accepted for return.
Duty of Care
Once the product is in the client’s possession, the client assumes full responsibility for its care. Damage caused after handover, including chipping, scratching, staining, or impact damage, is not considered a product fault and is not covered by warranty.
Damage by Third Parties
Clients are responsible for protecting their concrete products during construction or renovation works. Concrete products should not be used as work surfaces or storage areas by other trades. Damage caused by third parties is not the responsibility of The Concrete Shed.
Product Suitability
While product information is provided through our website and communications, it is ultimately the client’s responsibility to determine whether GFRC products are suitable for their intended application.
Delivery, Shipping & Installation
Samples & Homewares
Samples and homewares are shipped via Australia Post.
Custom Projects – Local
Custom projects are delivered and installed by The Concrete Shed unless otherwise stated. Delivery and installation costs will be clearly outlined in the quote.
Interstate Orders
Smaller items are shipped via Australia Post or courier. Larger items are shipped via kerbside delivery only. Kerbside delivery means goods are delivered to the nearest accessible point and do not include placement inside the property. Clients are responsible for unpacking, handling, and disposal of packaging.
Collection
Clients may collect orders directly from our shed. Collected items are not packaged unless requested, and packaging fees may apply.
Once a product leaves our workshop, responsibility transfers to the client. Collection confirms the product has been inspected and accepted in good condition. The Concrete Shed is not liable for damage occurring during transport by the client.
Delivery Acceptance
The Concrete Shed is not responsible for loss or damage once a product has been delivered, left in a safe place, or handed over. Any damage believed to have occurred during freight must be reported with photographs within 48 hours of delivery.
Final Measurements & Templates
Custom Projects
Where The Concrete Shed conducts the final site measure, responsibility for accuracy rests with us. If the client supplies measurements or templates instead, all responsibility for accuracy lies with the client, including dimensions, cut-outs, and site conditions.
Online Store
No site measure is included. Clients are responsible for ensuring correct sizing, cut-outs, and site suitability.
Heat Exposure
While GFRC is non-combustible under certain conditions, exposure to direct or excessive heat may cause cracking. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure GFRC is appropriate for fireplaces, pizza ovens, or other heat sources.
Damage caused by heat exposure is not covered by warranty. Do not place hot items directly onto concrete surfaces.
Chips & Minor Damage
Although uncommon, chipping can occur. A colour-matched repair compound may be supplied upon request; however, repairs may remain visible.
Cabinetry & Structural Support
The Concrete Shed is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate support, uneven cabinetry, or unsuitable substrates. Any resulting repairs or remakes are the client’s responsibility.
Waterfall Ends & Legs
Where internal faces of concrete are visible, such as waterfall ends or legs, these surfaces will have a different finish due to manufacturing methods. This is normal and unavoidable.
Hairline Cracks
Hairline cracks (generally under 1mm) may occur and are considered a natural characteristic of concrete. These do not affect the strength or usability of the product and are not considered defects.
Weight Limits
Avoid placing excessive weight on unsupported areas of concrete products, including overhangs and table edges. Excessive load may result in cracking or sagging over time.
